Adela WTT Youth Contender winner in Havirov
compass-supported Adela Brhelova has had a successful March on the World Table Tennis (WTT) Youth Series. In Havirov, the 12-year-old from Czechia clinched the U13 singles title, and in Berlin she reached the semifinals in the U15 event.
In Berlin, Ladimir Mayorov was also among the top four in the boys’ U15 event.

Both Youth Contender events in Berlin and Havirov were played from 09–15 March.
In Berlin, Adela Brhelova managed to reach the playoffs among opponents up to five years older in the U17 category. Reaching the round of the last 32, she lost to China’s Liu Zitong in straight games.
Adela top 4 in U15 in Berlin
In the younger U15 event, Adela defeated two Germans in the first rounds of the knockout stage: Christine Hintersdorf and Dana Haspel. Both matches went to deciders – Adela won them 11:9 (over Hintersdorf) and 11:7 (over Haspel in the quarterfinals). In the semifinal, another Chinese player, 13-year-old Tong Ziyuan, was the opponent, and here Adela lost in four games.

Other compass-supported players also participated in Berlin. Danilo Faso reached the round of the last 16 in the U19 event. Ladimir Mayorov, like Adela 12 years old, reached the knockout stage in U17 and lost in the round of the last 64.
In U15, “Ladi” did not lose a single game in the knockout stage until the semifinal. On his way, he defeated Malcolm Xiong (Canada), Joel Rohaly (Germany), and Jakub Hubka (Poland). In the semifinals, Ladimir lost, also in straight games, to 13-year-old Chen Yizhou from China.
Jeffrey Wei also participated, losing to France’s Marin Jean 1:3 in the round of the last 32 in the U15 event.


Gold in Havirov for Adela
In Havirov, only Adela participated among the young Compass talents.
In U15, she reached the round of the last 16. In U13, the event for her own age category, Adela was dominant until the final, defeating Cui Eileen (Singapore), Eva Chalkovskyte (Lithuania), and Kaja Tvorogal (Lithuania), all in straight games. The final against Patience Anyango from Uganda was tighter, however. Adela eventually won the exciting and well-played five-game match – 11:13, 11:2, 14:12, 6:11, and 11:7.

Earlier in March, compass-supported Görkem Öcal from Türkiye traveled to Singapore to compete at the Singapore Youth Smash. In the U19 event, he did not qualify for the main draw, but in U15 he progressed after defeating two players from the host nation.
In the knockout stage, Görkem overcame Korea Republic’s Son Jaeyoung 4:1. In the quarterfinal, he was level at 2:2 after the first four games against China’s Liu Zihang. However, Görkem lost the following games 5:7 and 6:7, resulting in a 4:2 win for the Chinese 15-year-old.

compass-supported Danilo Faso not only played the Youth Contender in Berlin in March. A couple of days earlier, in Düsseldorf, he tested himself in a senior tournament, a WTT Feeder event – the lowest of the five levels in senior competition, below Smash, Champions, Star Contender, and Contender. Danilo faced Tseng Tzu-yu in the first qualification round. He started well, winning the first two games, but eventually lost 5:11 in the decider.
